Poems.

I wrote these poems in school, for the class assembly. Extremely unprofessional poems, but had to post something here.

Perfection
Try to be the best in what you do,
even if it isn't worth it.
Who knows how it may help you,
perhaps when stuck in deep trouble are your feet.
You can never be perfect in all things,
but at least try to be in one.
For when you are facing hardships and sufferings,
that may be your only ray of Sun.
Even if the world turns its back on you,
leering that you are utterly useless,
that moment you can defiantly state,
at this thing, I'm the best.
Pick a field,
and focus your mind and soul upon it.
You'll be surprised by the sweet fruits it will yield.
Now I hope I've taught you a thing or two,
that to excel in life,
what you need to do.

Keeping in control
Control your mind and check your tongue,
thus the elders once to us had sung.
For the ones who did abide by these two,
have always been respected and well-to-do.
Leaving success much far behind,
They kept those ideals still in mind.
But the ones who completely ignored these two,
had to taste dishonour like a bolt from the blue.
So engrossed were they in riches and money,
that bitter was now to them the best of honey.
They realised their mistake far too late,
when struck upon them their doomed fate.
Then they closed their eyes and wished they had paid heed to what the elders once sung.
To control our mind and check our tongue.

Traffic Light
Stop! Halt!
For I'm the traffic light!
So great is my might,
that people shiver at my sight!
When I'm green,
they're fine and happy.
When I turn orange,
they panic and flee!
Red when I become,
they groan and scowl and are grumpy.
They drum their fingers on the handle,
looking as if beaten with a sandal.
Here and there are cars, bikes and trucks.
Blowing their horns like angry ducks.
When I again turn green,
they're relieved and fine.
Now moving along in several lines.

"I love your poems they are divine,
They certainly are no crime against rhyme,
In fact I think they are sublime"
