You

You're the scarred soul and the blistering body,
The blood that shimmers inside,
The sweat that glistens violently,
As you stoke your demonic light.

You're the speckled sky,
The constellations floating in a queer dance,
The brilliance of the afternoon stupor,
Lit by your inner suns.

You're the veiled earth,
And everything that awaits beneath.
The breath of its wet embers,
That smoulder with pulsing heat.

You're the scrawled poetry,
The elaborate, enchanting tales.
The writer's cruel melancholy,
That erodes the reader to anguished wails.

You're fluid in a formless motion,
An idea rooted in place.
A forever that fits in a fist,
A moment spanning endless days.

You're the blood-lust of battle,
The fury that delivers wars.
The dirt that shields the slaughtered faiths,
The blood that waters the hopes gone coarse.

You're the ignorance of an innocent,
The tinkling laughter of a child.
The tightened lips of the guilty,
The flinted eyes that once were mild.

You're the strangled voice,
The words subdued and quelled.
The truth that rises from the bowels
Of the honest, suppressed and ruthlessly felled.

You're the pain of curbed longings,
Of love made in flurried haste.
You were, and shall always be,
The conqueror and the conquest.

What a post on your 18th Bday ! :) This symbolizes even your write-ups maturing to a different level altogether !
You're the conjunction that joins our life,
The constant in our skewed equations
The harbinger of felicity & good luck
The first light on our rising horizon !

Wow! Its motivating, inspiring. I don't usually say this, but I like the rhymes.
And I can see, in the seventh stanza, you've penned down your today's feeling, über creatively.

That is some wonderful, wonderful poetry. It flows, has a great rhythm and puts the words together brilliantly. It shows a lot of emotion and imagination. And as always, you have a knack for choosing the right words. The poem is a little vague and therefore the interpretation will be different for all. If there's one thing I slightly dislike, it's the length of the whole thing. But that, of course, has its merits, too, and adds to the poem. So yeah, it's wonderful.

I absolutely love the poem. The idea. The theme. Especially the last line. It's beyond brilliant.

Good composition. Great choice of words and metaphors .Topic , however , seemed too common , trite . Yet writing was engaging as always . Fav line : you were , and shall always be , the conqueror and the conquest !
